Gloucestershire Archery Society was formed to support all archery clubs in Gloucestershire, South Gloucestershire, and Bristol.
Grand Western Archery Society
The Grand Western Archery Society was formed in 1861 to promote and encourage the practice of archery in all its forms, throughout the South Western Region of England.
Archery GB
Archery GB is the national governing body for the sport of archery in the UK. Vision is to enrich lives through archery in Great Britain, from grassroots to performance level.
Target Archery
Target archery involves shooting at stationary circular targets from set distances. Target archery is performed at the Olympic and Paralympic Games and have a go” archery session participants try first.
Field Archery
Field archery is a challenging outdoor sport set in natural terrain like woods and hills, involving shooting at targets of varying sizes, distances, angles (uphill/downhill), and sometimes unmarked ranges.
Clout Archery
Clout archery is a traditional form of archery where archers shoot arrows at a distant flag (the “clout”) in the ground, aiming to land them in concentric scoring circles, with points awarded for proximity to the flag.
Para archery was one of the original Paralympic sports. It is similar to the version you see at the Olympic Games. Para archers can compete in both the Olympic and Paralympic Games as long as they meet the qualification criteria.
The British Wheelchair Archery Association is here to help promote the sport of para-archery and assists with all aspects of the sport from grassroots information to elite level training.
At British Blind Sport, we help blind and partially sighted people to get active and play sport. We encourage adults and children to participate in activities at all levels, from grassroots to the Paralympic Games.
WheelPower. Working towards a better world. We have been providing opportunities for people with physical impairments to take part in sport for over 75 years. Based at Stoke Mandeville Stadium, the birthplace of the Paralympic movement, WheelPower is at the heart of wheelchair sport.
LimbPower. There are many opportunities for people who have a disability to get involved in archery. The best places to get started are at an archery have a go session or on a beginners course where the coaches will be able to help with any queries you may have.

Archery Beginner Courses
Beginner courses run for 4 - 6 weeks (one 2 hour session per week) and provide a good introduction to the sport.
Archery Taster Sessions
Start your archery journey with a taster session. Experienced coaches will show you how to pick up a bow and start shooting.
Cheltenham Archers were founded in 1857. Based at Cheltenham Racecourse, the targets are laid out permanently for all distances. What ever you want to achieve, archery is a sport that all ages and abilities can enjoy.
Founded in 1948, Black & Gold are a friendly, social archery club based in north Gloucestershire. We are dedicated to supporting anyone who wants to take part in the sport, from novices all the way to those with decades of experience.
